Sora's web and app experiences were discontinued on 26 April 2026 — already past.
The Sora API is discontinued on 24 September 2026 — it still works right now, 55 days out.
Both dates come from OpenAI's help centre article "What to know about the Sora discontinuation", opened and read directly by the author of this page.
If you still call the Sora API, this is the window to move production off it — not the final week.
These video models run on Tovaki today, all under one subscription. Below are their real credit costs and the limits we measured.
| Spec | Shortest shot · 720p | Durations | Max resolution |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0 | 5s → 100 | 5–10s | 4k |
| Kling v3 | 5s → 60 | 5 / 10s | 1080p |
| Veo 3.1 | 4s → 232 | 4 / 6 / 8s | 4k |
| Wan 2.6 | 5s → 60 | 5 / 10 / 15s | 1080p |
| Hailuo 2.3 | 6s → 48 | 6 / 10s | 720p |
Most Sora prompts port over as-is, but three things need adjusting per target model:
Duration — models expose discrete duration steps, not a continuous value. A prompt that hardcodes "12 seconds" gets snapped when the model only offers 4/6/8s.
Shot continuity — Sora took one longer clip with the cut described in prose. Here each shot is its own card, and a shot can open on the previous shot's final frame, so continuity comes from the pipeline rather than from your wording.
Audio — some models emit native audio and some do not. If you need voice or ambience, pick one that does; otherwise plan to add it afterwards.
